   The domain is still there as well as their favicon. I will keep them listed for a bit until I hear officially if they are gone. Perhaps someone from MacFiles.org would like to contact me and give me the scoop?

   I took a look at the pages on macfiles.org and it would appear they have disappeared. There is a ton of spam on the site and the posts are quite old.

   Last Thursday was a busy day for the Bundeskriminalamt -Federal Criminal Police of Germany as they raided 4 servers of popular warez sites hosted within their nation. The Avax network Avaxhome/Avaxsphere, GfxWorld, & Macfile, were all taken down and seized. Suspicions were verified by E-Mail from the current host of gfxworld, keyweb.de. in saying that “the website was taken down per legal order by the German authorities and we cannot give out any other details. As of this time we may not allow further hosting of this site on our servers and there is no comment as to whether or not it will be back online”.

   The 4 sites in question were formerly affiliated with now defunct modestus.org, also forcibly shut down due to gfx sharing. This is the first push on non P2P sharing sites in Germany since 2007 and the reasons are speculated to be due to the regular release of fonts and the sites’ new use of Feedburner RSS pushing them far higher on Google search than the actual creators.

   Neither the other hosts nor the site owners have replied to comment on it.

   I am slow this week. You were all asking about macfile.org and not macfiles.org, which this post points to. Sorry about that. Macfiles.org is still working but the home page is dead:

   Macfiles was one of the best sites to get mac software other get mixed with windoze crap. This one was easy to use, I mean if is available you’ll get !! On limewire or rapidshare you might download a windoze version whack!!!! Anybody know of another site like Macfiles?
